Question is too vague! If you want answers, post details!
How do i switch from one hard disk to anther hard disk?
From a command prompt type [drive letter]: and press enter. If that's not what you're asking you need to provide more details.
Reply:Just replace them ? I don't get your question, if you already have it installed , just go to My Computer one should be called C: one should be called Some other drive letter.
But if you want to let say switch totally, then take the old one out , take the PIN on the back of the hard drive out on the new one, and plug it in the pc. Once you got that, install operating system :)
Reply:If you are referring to transferring everything from a old HD to a new HD, then you would probably need to get some imaging software.
You can usually download or request free trials from certain websites.
I have used Acronis a lot and it is very reliable and easy to do.
Just simply open your computer case and use the primary bus cable to hook up your old HD (which will need to be set to master) and then attach your new HD as your slave (You usually just remove the jumper from the HD to make it a slave, however, there are different jumper configurations for different HDs).
Boot your computer, assuming your old HD is still functional, and run the imaging software. Most of them walk you through the cloning process so it's fairly easy to even someone with limited computer knowledge.
Just make sure you have the right destination hard disk that you want cloned or you may end up with two blank HD's!
Good luck!
Reply:Both Maxtor and Western Digital include disk utilities with their new hard drives that let you do a disk copy from your old HD to your new HD. It will copy all the adware bugs and viruses too.
Reply:Too vague. Use BOTH!
