How to marry someone from anther country?

I am from the United States. I have been chatting with a girl from the philippines for the past year. We chat at least once a week and we talk on the phone regularly. Right now she is in China working. Next year she is planning on moving to Canada for work. She didnt apply to usa knowing how difficult it was to come here. Once she was in Canada we where planning to met for the first time. My question is, If we find each other just as close in person, as we have over the past year and year coming. How hard would it be for us to get married and live are life together here in the USA?

Here is the info you requested... I don't know what the guy above is referring to about embassies and all...

as a side note the US does recognize foreign marriages so you can get married in Canada

Check the link below.
Reply:Assuming she's not already married (there's no divorce in the Philippines) and she has no criminal record you should have no trouble.
Reply:You've never even met this girl before and you're talking about marrying her? She's obviously trying to take advantage of you. Quit smoking crack and get real.
Reply:Before a huge decision about marriage I really think you should know her better. If you 2 hit it off after the first meeting in person see how it goes for a few months. Then perhaps really look in to what has to be done for marrying a foreigner.Good luck.
Reply:The legal process for you and your girlfriend to become a twosome will require you/she to consult with your respective embassies, provide birth certificates, verification of employment, bank statements, personal references, and perhaps an affidavit of sponsorship for her.
Reply:Careful Buddy,

Lots of these so called mail order brides often come with a lot of problems....

Hope you aren't thinking about sending her money that is a for sure way to pick out a scam artist.

But, in the event things are on the up and up I wish you luck. Going the Canadian route sounds like a smart move especially if you live near the Canadian border....
