You can remove the hard drive and put it in another very similar machine, or you can buy an adapter that will let you use it as a second drive or an external drive.
Reply:maybe
Reply:Yes, there is adapter that you can get to put the laptop hardrive in a desktop. I have one and it will work fine. Look in ebay for cable adapters under computers and networking. If you can't find one e-mail me and I will find one for you.
Reply:Well, will the laptop boot at all?

If so, boot from the CDrom with a LiveCDrom and copy all files over the network, or wifi, or even to an external drive via USB.

http://pclinuxos.com is a Live CDrom! FREE!

If the laptop won't boot, then, time to pull the hard drive, and stick it on an adapter sled to do a transfer to any computer or drive, via Firewire or USB ports...
